Dec 24

And so… we move onto our tenth and final installment of our Wee Jaunt.

We want to say a massive thank you to everyone that helped, and put in a massive effort to make such a special day happen.

All the venues; the guys at Fresh Air student radio, The Bongo Club, The List Magazine, The Mosque Kitchen, Red Bull, The Scottish Poetry Library and The Scottish Storytelling Centre.

All our cameramen; Ben, Gordon, Michael Sherrington, Nick Jedrzejewski (easy for him to say), Niall Walker and Keir Siewart.

And of course all the bands; Madhat McGore, Shields Up, Stanley Odd, I Build Collapsable Mountains, Teklo, Over The Wall, Conquering Animal Sound, Vic Galloway, Withered Hand, and finally these guys - the incredible Lady North.

Then of course, the cliche - you guys. To everyone who came along, did start jumps, followed us, and put up with our ridiculous shenanigans. You smiled the whole way, and you cheered every band. You’re bloody great. Happy Christmas xxx

Dec 24

Our ninth stop, and after his story, Mr Vic Galloway led us out from his story to the garden behind the Scottish Storytelling centre. Waiting for us there was Withered Hand with this beautiful new song.

Dec 22

This is the eighth in our series of videos from our Wee Jaunt in Edinburgh.

And what a rare bloody treat. We were able to visit the beautiful Scottish Storytelling Centre on the Royal Mile, and what better way to enjoy the place than have Scottish music legend Vic Galloway treat us to a wonderful wee story about his first gig. If you’re passionate about music, or even you are just a human being with a soul, then there’s no way this won’t make you smile.

Dec 21

We are onto the seventh stop of our Wee Jaunt.

This is Conquering Animal Sound - one of the most incredible bands to come from Scotland in years. The List magazine let us use their lovely doorstep, which annoyed one old lady, but kept everyone else utterly entranced.

Dec 20

We are onto our sixth stop of The Wee Jaunt. Back in the summer, we took a team of people around Edinburgh, showing them the best of the city’s bands, in very different locations.

This was Over The Wall - one of our favourite bands in the country. We had just finished an incredible lunch at the amazing Mosque Kitchen.

Dec 19

Here is the fifth stop of our Wee Jaunt back in the summer.

Teklo pumps out ridiculously heavy dubstep while we all get some half time refreshments.

Splendid.

Dec 18

Here is the fourth of our stops from our Wee Jaunt back in the summer.

This is I Build Collapsible Mountains - on the roof behind the wonderful Fresh Air student radio studios.

Dec 17

Good morning.

This is the third in our series of Wee Jaunt videos, from our summer adventure in Edinburgh.

This stop, we took in a pint upstairs at the legendary Bongo Club, and were treated to a set from the amazing Stanley Odd.

Dec 16

We will be releasing a video from our Wee Jaunt, once every night from now until Christmas.

This was our second stop - the Scottish Poetry Library. We thought it would be only right for Ally to read a poem… and then have hardcore band Shields Up tear the place open.

Dec 15

We will be releasing a video every night from now until Christmas, from our Wee Jaunt.

Back in the summer, we took one hundred people on a musical adventure around Edinburgh. We wanted to show how varied the city, and its musicians, is. So we have ten of our very favourite bands, in locations that will probably never see a band play there again.

This was our first stop - Madhat McGore, at the bottom of Arthur’s Seat.

Dec 09

Back in June, we took over 100 folk on a Wee Jaunt round Edinburgh to see Madhat McGore, Shields Up, Stanley Odd, I Build Collapsible Mountains, Teklo, Over the Wall, Conquering Animal Sound, a story from the notorious VIC (Galloway), Withered Hand, and Lady North, all in “venues” that will probably never be used as venues again.

To celebrate this we are going to premiere the best of the footage on Thursday 15th December in Electric Circus, Edinburgh between 6pm-7pm.

As a thank you to everyone who played, helped out, or for those of you who are just curious, it will be totally free to get in.

In addition to our premiere, it just so happens that our Wee Jaunt storyteller extraordinaire, Vic Galloway is hosting his very special Christmas show in the same venue, straight after us with a stormin’ line up!

If you are down in time for our premiere you’ll get cut-price tickets for the evenings festivities at Vic Galloway presents…

Come down, watch, chat to the bands, have a pint, and stay for the gig. It will be smashin’.

Lots of love
